Here is the season break down for both age groups:

  • May - Teams start to practice outdoors with their respective teams for the summer season. Practices will be twice weekly on weekdays. New for 2023 - please indicate your preference for Monday/Wednesday practices or Tuesday/Thursday practices. We will do our best to accommodate those preferences based on registration numbers in an effort to provide flexibility to multi-sport athletes.
  • June/July - Youth Lacrosse MN Summer Field games scheduled (10 games at 10U, 8 games at 8U).  Games occur on weeknights and are played against other teams in the Southeast metro.  The year end YLM jamboree is the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd. You can see this link for more details  https://www.youthlaxmn.com/.

Teams will also participate in the River Valley Rumble in Shakopee on the weekend of June 9th thru 11th.

All other practices and games during the summer months will be during the week. Yes, we respect your summer weekend family time!

Equipment

Equipment needed: lacrosse helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, lacrosse stick, athletic cup, mouthguard and cleats for outdoor summer field. For the spring indoor season, hockey helmet is ok, but YLM requires a lacrosse helmet for the summer field season. Hockey gloves and elbow pads are also fine for beginners.

For Summer YLM play - NOCSAE certified lacrosse shoulder pads are required, due to the recently mandated inclusion of a hard chest plate.

Age & Eligibility

8U - players born between 9/1/2014-8/31/2016

10U - players born between 9/1/2012-8/31/2014

Volunteering

Eagan Lacrosse is an all-volunteer organization. Parents/Guardians of the Eagan Lacrosse community are required to volunteer in order to ensure a broad base of support. Parents/Guardians who choose not volunteer will be required to pay an additional $150 fee.

Each family will be required to fulfill 2 Dibs hours this season. We will offer a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the season.

Opportunities include: ● Ball Boys/Girls at Eagan High School Lacrosse games ● Season preparation tasks (i.e. equipment disbursement, re-stringing nets, etc.) ● Fundraisers - we will be hosting YLM jamborees and state tourneys that final two weekends of July. These will be the major opportunities for fulfilling DIBS.

A $150 deposit will be required at field team meeting at the beginning of the season. Checks for those that do not fulfill Dibs will be cashed 08/01/23.

You may choose to opt out of these volunteer duties by paying an additional $150 with your registration. The fee will be used to help find and pay for hiring outside workers in your place.

Tournament volunteer opportunities will be listed on our DIBS page closer to the tournament date. There will be many shifts available for people to sign up for to fulfill their 2-hour minimum requirement.
